Frank was born on August 15, 1939, in Cedar Key, Florida to Ellie D. and Mary Magdalene Fletcher. As a young man, Frank grew up in Port St. Joe, Florida and was awarded for outstanding accomplishments in athletics. Lionel J. Young, of Marianna, Florida, passed away on July 20, 2023. He was 82 years old and had been battling esophageal cancer.
Mr. Deaner was born on July 11, 1936 in Danville, Pennsylvania, son of the late Haydn M. and Grace R. (Engle) Deaner. He was pre deceased by his brother, Dr. Richard Deaner of Dana Point, CA. Mr. Deaner was raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, and was a member of the Durfee High School graduating class of 1954.
t’s almost that time of year! It’s another hot Summer, but folks are thinking about Fall and some leaves are beginning to turn. All that means that the scarecrows will soon start showing up in downtown Chipley in anticipation of “Archeologists at the Museum History Fest & Scarecrow Building Contest.” Both events are scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd at the Washington County Historical Society in downtown Chipley.
