Vernon Yellowjackets Homecoming Game
The Vernon Jackets’ Homecoming 2024 is officially in the books! It was a fantastic week for all the kids, filled with spirited dress-up days at school. Breakfast for the players was generously sponsored by Gigi’s Country Store. The players pre-game meal was sponsored by Sunny Hills Civic Association and Holmes Creek Pizza. Chipley Lady Tigers will play the Cottondale Lady Hornets on Thursday, October 17th, 6:00pm. Central Time 
On Monday October 14th, 2024, Chipley High School was the Host Site for Rural District 2 – 2024 Girls Volleyball District Tournaments, Vernon Lady Yellowjackets played Holmes County Lady Blue Devils, best out of 5 match- 1- 3, Lady Devils win. 
On Saturday October 12th many were able to join in all the activities offered to kids by local sponsors thru ArtKidDoo. 
On Monday October 7th, 2024, the Chipley Lady tigers hosted the Cottondale Lady Hornets. 
Wildflower Chair Glenda Wilson presented the wildflower Partridge Pea aka Chamaecrista fasciculata. The plant is native pollinator, provides food for birds, insects and wildlife, and also has several Native American medical uses, but it can become invasive. The Sundial Garden is looking very nice thanks to Cheryl McCall and Juliet Sauls’ hard work. The zinnias are lovely! 
On Friday Night October 4th ,2024, Vernon Yellowjackets hosted the Arnold Marlins under the Friday Night lights, at the end of the game the score was 40-0 Arnold wins.

On Friday 4th, 2024, Bonifay, Florida held their first parade for the 80th year, the second parade was held on Saturday 5th, 2024,. 
On Friday October 4th, 2024, the football game was cancelled and the band played on.
