Vicki Renee Syfrett Obit

Vicki Renee Syfrett, age 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Doctor’s

Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, Florida. She was born in Panama City, Florida on January 30, 1959

to Calvin and Mamie (Ellis) Sapp.

 

Vicki was a proud graduate of Florida State University, a diehard Nole during the highs and

lows. She was a passionate educator, teaching for more than 30 years with Bay District Schools

at Jinks, Southport, and finally as a founding teacher at Deane Bozeman School. After her

retirement, she returned to education serving many different roles with Washington County

School District in Vernon secondary schools. She touched many lives throughout her time in

education.

 

Vicki was a fervent follower of Christ, a devoted wife, a doting mother, the most proud Nini,

cherished member of immediate and extended family, beloved friend, life of the party, servant

minded, avid reader, and history buff.

 

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 39 years; Karl of

Chipley, FL, her two sons; Austin and wife Janae of Panama City, FL, Drake and wife Brianna of

Chipley, FL, grandson; Wyatt and baby Jamison due in May; her brother; Ricky Sapp (Jo) of

Panama City, FL, her sister; Anita Lee (Keith) of Vernon, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts,

uncles, cousins, and special friends; Debra, Cory, LaDonna, Margaret, and Connie. A special

thanks to the caring staff at Doctor’s Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, FL.

 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Grace Assembly in

Chipley, FL with Rev. Dallas Pettis officiating. Interment will follow at the Kent Forest Lawn

Cemetery in Panama City, FL. Visitation one hour prior to service.

 

Active pallbearers will be: Wyatt Syfrett, Nick Miller, Seth Miller, Brandon Coatney, Jeremy

Cotton, Logan Bleakley, Ethan Neal, and Bo Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers include: Rev. Nixon

Miller, Justin Hart, Hunter Miller, Mike Ellis, and Jason Miller.
