The Vernon Yellowjackets hosted the Franklin County Seahawks for their home opener on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The game was originally scheduled for Friday night but was postponed and moved to Saturday evening due to lightning. (The band photos were taken Friday night.)
The Jackets came out ready to play and gave it their all on the field. The boys played hard, showed determination, and never stopped fighting. Meanwhile, our amazing cheerleaders kept the crowd energized and spirits high throughout the game.
Unfortunately, the final score did not go in the Jackets’ favor, with Franklin County taking the win 35–0. But a final score doesn’t define the heart, effort, and determination these boys showed on the field.
Keep your heads up, Jackets! Continue to work hard, stay determined, and play with pride. There is still plenty of football left to play, and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
