Tucker Martin Takes Home Gold in the
International Auto Glass Technician Competition
San Antonio, Texas —Tucker Martin, an auto glass repair and replacement technician with Wisefly Auto Glass, won the gold medal in the prestigious International Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO) Competition during Auto Glass Week™ (AGW) 2026, held August 27-29 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Martin took home a glimmering medal, the winning trophy, and bragging rights as the industry’s best auto glass replacement technician.
Martin of Chipley, Florida is very familiar with the highly competitive, three-day event that includes a series of heats that carefully evaluate each competitor’s skills. Martin garnered first place in 2026 after previously competing, with his eye always being on the gold.
Like most competitors, Martin is an Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) Certified Technician.
“Watching Tucker compete over the years, you can feel his passion for this industry radiating off of him,” says Sarah Bauder, Auto Glass Week competition coordinator, “The judges did not go easy on the competitors this year, throwing them many curveballs. Tucker rose above all obstacles and secured his rightful gold medal.”
“Find somebody that knows what they’re doing and get under their belt and take all the training that you can from them. I worked under a lot of the past champions and learning their ways which ultimately got me here,” was the advice Martin gave when asked the secret to success. Although he holds the title, Martin says this accomplishment also means a lot to his hometown. “My whole town pushed me to win it, so I’m bringing this win back to my community more than I am for myself.”
Auto Glass Week™ is the only event that offers the original equipment (OE) and aftermarket auto glass repair and replacement industry the opportunity to learn from peers and industry experts. The Auto Glass Technician Olympics (AGTO) Competition honors the technician who completes the best automotive glass replacement installation. Areas judged include professionalism, credentials, and knowledge; technician comportment and vehicle safety inspection; proper product, equipment, and tools usage; proper auto glass removal and installation procedures and techniques; and post-installation and customer procedures.
