Chipley High School Softball Senior Night

The first senior to be recognized is #2 Braylee Howard.

Braylee is the daughter of Steve and Dori Howard.

Braylee has played softball for two years with Coach Dickson, and two years with Mr. Webb. While at Chipley High School, she has proven herself in the classroom by maintaining A’s and being involved in multiple sports and clubs. She has been an active member in Beta Club, FFA, Juniorettes, and National Honors Society. She has also cheered, played volleyball, and golfed for the Tigers.

Braylee has been dual enrolled since her Junior year, and is now currently Early Admitted. She will graduate from Chipola in May with her A.A. After graduation, Braylee plans on applying to the Nursing Program at Chipola and work up to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Some of her favorite memories were from the hill. For example, the time Kelcy saved us from running, and we couldn’t stop laughing or crying. Another memory is when it started to rain really hard and Coach Dickson took off and beat us to the dugout. And she won’t ever forget when Coach Dickson made her run 6 foul poles by herself.

Braylee would like to thank all of her former coaches, teammates, and family for their support and dedication. This season has been one of the closest the team has ever been, and she is so grateful she got to be a part of it.

Ladies and gentleman, let’s give a big round of applause for #2, Braylee Howard!

The next senior to be recognized is #12 Lauren Waits.

Lauren is the daughter of Jonathan and Stacy Waits.

Lauren has played softball for the Varsity Chipley Tigers for 4 years. She has established herself in the classroom, on the softball field, and on the volleyball court by winning 2 District Volleyball Championships. She has also participated in Beta club for 4 years as well as cheer and student council for 1 year.

After graduation, Lauren will be attending Thomas University on a softball scholarship where she plans on majoring in Exercise Science to later become a Physical Therapist.

Lauren will never forget the countless times running up and down THE HILL and all the funny moments, like where she saw Coach Dickson running away from the giant raindrop in the sky. Most of all she is thankful for the many memories and friendships she has made throughout these 4 years.

Lauren is thankful for all the coaches that have supported and helped her along her softball journey. Lastly, Lauren wishes to encourage all her teammates to work hard and play each game like it’s your last.

Ladies and gentleman, let’s give a big round of applause for #12, Lauren Waits.
