To wind up the1925-26 club year, Chipley Garden Club joined garden clubs from Wausau, Sneads, Panama City, Gulf Beach, Lynn Haven, and Port St. Joe on Tuesday, May 19th in Panama City and attended the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. District II Spring Meeting. At the meeting, District Director Sarah Darden announced Award Winners from the FFGC Spring Convention.
Chipley Garden Club President Mike Hansen accepted the following FFGC awards on behalf of the club: “Fun with Flowers” for their project with children during National Garden Week and senior adults at the Washington County Council on Aging; “Blue Star Memorial Marker” for a year-long project to move, refurbish, and rededicate Chipley’s Blue Star Marker while maintaining the markers in Cottondale, Chipley, and Bonifay; and “Facebook”. In addition, Chipley Garden Club was recognized with a 75 year FFGC Diamond Certificate and for Tree Planting in 2025.
The National Garden Club also awarded the Chipley Garden Club- a “Certificate of Appreciation” for the Chipley Garden Club’s “admirable work” during 2025.
The Club also received a First Place award from Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc. for “Community Action” for their work with the Blue Star Markers this past year.
