observance - The Chipley Ministerial Association invites
the community to attend a Holy Week Observance the week of
March 29 thru April 2.

January unemployment rate - Florida’s seasonally
adjusted unemployment rate is 11.9 percent in January 2010,
up 0.2 percentage point from the December revised rate of
11.7 percent and up from 8.7 percent a year ago.
Birthday
celebration - Morgan Makenna Watts celebrated her third
birthday on Saturday, March 6, at her Mimi and Papa's house
in Chipley with a Disney Princess party.
WHTC
graduation - Washington-Holmes Technical Center will
hold their annual graduation ceremonies on Tuesday, May 4,
at 7 p.m. at the Washington County Agriculture Center.
Summer
voluntary pre-k roundup - The Early Learning Coalition
of Northwest Florida, Inc., will conduct a Voluntary
Prekindergarten (VPK) Round Up for the VPK Summer Program.
Pippin
has successful weekend - Holmes County alumna Mary
Elizabeth Pippin and the Alabama Southern Eagles softball
team traveled to Cullman, AL last weekend for the Wallace
State 5th Annual JUCO Invitational Tournament.

honored for service to hospital - Marlene Ray is shown
here with a crape myrtle previously planted by the Chipley
Garden Club on the grounds of the Northwest Florida
Community Hospital, honoring her for 42 years service to the
hospital.
VES:
Not scared of FCAT! - In order to show that the FCAT was
not a bother to them, students at Vernon Elementary School
celebrated “We’re Not Scared of the FCAT” week.
