Peacock obit

Elizabeth Anthony Peacock, age 105, passed from this life Friday, December 2, 2016 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital.

Born November 14, 1911 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Resident of Chipley, FL since 1934. Her church affiliation in First United Methodist Church of Chipley. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida State College for Women, now Florida State, in 1933, and served as a classroom teacher at Chipley High School of thirty-five years. She was selected Chipley High School Teacher of the Year in 1977. She was a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class and their teacher for many years, a member of Fleda Huggins Circle, and served on the Administrative Council in various capacities. She is a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Chipley Woman’s Club, Chipley Garden Club, Florida Retired Educators Association, Washington County Retired Educators, and Friends of The Library.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Sharon Rogers, Michael Crooks, Cathy Hughes, Candace Hull, and John Bellis.

A memorial services will be held 2:00P.M., January 5, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Trish Bruner officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  1. Known as Pat Peacock by her friends, her students still called her Mrs. Green. She wss preceded death by her husbands Wick Green and Otis Peacock. She had requested no flowers at her January 5 Celebration of Life, but suggested donations be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church of Chipley, Florida.
