Rustin obit

Sarah Margaret Rustin, age 74 passed into the arms of her Lord on December 3, 2016.  Mrs. Rustin was the daughter of the late Gillis and Ollie Payne of Holmes County.  Mrs. Rustin was a supervisor at B&B Sports Wear in Chipley, Florida for 10 years and also employed at West Point Stevens where she retired at 12 years.

Mrs. Rustin known as “Mog” to her loving family was a loving mother, grandmother and dedicated wife.  Cooking for her family brought her the most joy.  She was admired for her pound cakes and cornbread.

“Comes as a guest leave as family” applied to her kitchen.  She fed numerous strangers, friends and co-workers throughout the years.  Sharing her gift of cooking was her life’s ambition.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Rustin, four brothers, Herlon, Herman, O’Neal and Wayne, two sisters, Katie Bell and Myrtle as well as one daughter, Connie Marie Riley.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Riley and wife Gail, David Riley and wife Sandra, Vicki Rustin Padgett, Carol Rustin Moore and husband Eddie, Laverne Hudson, nineteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

“Granny Mog” was the matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home from 10:30-11:30 A.M.  A Graveside Service will follow at Glenwood Cemetery with Reverend Dallas Pettis officiating.  Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
