Henry J. Bartnick, age 93 of Alford, died on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Chipola Pavilion at Chipola Retirement Center.
A native of Hazelton, PA, Mr. Bartnick had been a resident of Alford for the past 28 years. He was a devoted member of Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Fountain.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Olga Bartnick, and by his parents, John and Mary Bartnick.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Ann Eatmon; four sons: Andrew Bartnick and wife Deborah, Christopher Bartnick and wife Marlyss, Joseph Bartnick and wife Cindy, John Bartnick and wife Sheila; and three grandchildren: A.J., Nicholas, and Lydia Bartnick.
A WWII veteran, he served in the army from 1943-1946. He was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and WWII Victory Medal. He continued his service by joining the Army Reserves from 1946-1949.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
