Haddock obit

Dorothy D. Haddock, age 93, passed from this life Friday, November 18, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital.

She was born in Bonifay on November 25, 1922, to Josh and Nina “Worley” Dykes. Mrs. Dorothy worked for the Washington County School Board and was a lifelong member of the community. She was a member of the Vernon Assembly of God Church. Dorothy was a member of the Vernon Garden Club, and past president of the Pink Ladies of Northwest Florida Community Hospital. She was also chaplain for the Vernon V.F.W. and was a part of the Florida State Singing Convention.

She is survived by her three sons: Herbert Cecil Haddock and wife Charlotte Elaine of Paxton, Edward Haddock of Vernon, and Lynn Wayne Haddock and wife Barbara of Vernon; two daughters: Margaret Fletcher and husband Frank of Vernon, and Betty Spivey and husband James of Chipley; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 20, at Wausau Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Roger Dale Hagan and Rev. Preston Haddock officiating. Interment will follow in the Haddock Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 19, at Grace and Glory Church in Chipley.

    Sorry to hear of your dear mother’s passing. My, how long ago was it we played ball against and with each other? I didn’t realize your Mom was still around though I never met her. She raised three fine sons, sorry I didn’t know your sisters, but I’m sure they were fine young women. Just a voice from your past is all I am. By the way Edward, Bro. Mike walker says hello. Bro.
