Homecoming game

by Faith Padgett

Last night, October 21st, our Chipley Tigers faced the West Gadsden Panthers. It was homecoming night in the Den, so to start off the night we crowned Rickina Williams and Adrian Sims the 2016 Homecoming King & Queen! The court royalty consisted of nine senior football players that chose nine senior girls to sponsor.

The Panthers scored early in the first half, which remained the same until after halftime where the Tigers scored three times, but missed one extra point kick. The Panthers scored twice more and got the extra point and the game ended at Panthers 21 and Tigers 20. Even though losing homecoming is tough, we saw some great plays made by sophomores Andrew Lawton and Kelvin Dean and great runs by senior RB Adrian Sims.

Next week the Tigers will travel to Liberty County to face the Bulldogs to determine which team will take second in districts and play in the first round of playoffs.
