Lewis obit

Mr. William ‘Bill’ Kent Lewis, age 62, of Vernon, passed away October 13, 2016 at Washington Rehab and Nursing in Chipley.  He was born November 22, 1953 in Dade City.  He was preceded in death by his father, William Vander Lewis and his mother, Betty Marie Henderson Crandall.

Mr. Lewis is survived by a sister, Patricia ‘Patsy’ Wahl of Vernon; three nieces, Tina Bryan of NC, Michelle Bell and husband Chris of OH, Jennifer Thornton of KY; four great-nieces and four great-nephews; two aunts, Vera Hammack of Vernon, and Judy Rogers of Panama City.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 14, in the New Effort Church Cemetery with Sister Brenda Thornton officiating.  Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends from 1-2pm at Peel Funeral Home.

  1. Bill was a very special person , I was honored to be one of his nurses, he always let me know he was glad to see me always had a high five for me when I got to work! He will truly be missed by me , he could always put a smile on my face. He was the sheriff on my hall ! Rest In Peace my sweet friend

  2. I will miss Bill very much. He was always close to my mother in law Marilyn Carter. We always spoke to each other every time we met in the hall. My name is Nancy Carter. When he had things missing I always tried my best to find what was lost in laundry. He was a special person in my heart. RIP Bill
