dr-loran-anderson-chipola-science-speakerDr. Anderson, Professor Emeritus FSU, botanist, and curator, was a recent guest lecturer in Chipola College classes of environmental science.  His presentation on botanical biodiversity, appreciation and protection is part of a program of study designed to move students from visualizing environmental science to living it.

Dr. Anderson is former Curator of the Godfrey Herbarium at FSU. He served as a member of the Florida Endangered Plant Advisory Council for over 30 years and remains active in field surveys, describing several species for the first time, updating and adding species to a list of over 600 at the Florida Caverns State Park.
