Delta Kappa Gamma Society initiates seven

initiates-16In an impressive ceremony Tuesday night, September 27, at the Continuing Education Building at Chipola College, seven area educators were initiated into Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. They are Pamela Williams of Graceville Elementary School, Teresa McDaniel of Graceville High School, Anne Mathis of Mariana, Karen Mashburn of Kate M. Smith Elementary School in Chipley, Amanda Clark of Chipola College, Haley Burdeshaw of Grand Ridge School, and Amanda Bloomer of Graceville High School. Dr. Sarah Clemmons, President, presided over the ceremony.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is an international honorary society with over 103,000 key women educators in seventeen countries. Phi Chapter includes the area of Holmes, Washington, and Jackson Counties.

The Society was founded in 1929 in Austin, Texas, to promote equal status for women, to work for school legislation, and to provide financial assistance for women in their educational careers. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
