Florence Amanda Carroll Donaldson, age 89 of Graceville, died Wednesday, September 21, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, September 23, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellton Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Flowers accepted or those wishing can make memorials to the Campbellton Baptist Church Cemetery Fund of First Baptist Church in Graceville Library Fund.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 2 p.m. until time of service.
She was born February 11, 1927 in Ozark, AL, to the late Warner and Inez Brock Carroll, and was a graduate of Dale County High School and Riley Business College of Dothan, AL. Ms. Florence married the love of her life, Bennie Larough Donaldson, in 1947 and moved to Graceville. She worked with Jones Motor Company, Florida Welcome Station and then retired from the West Florida Electric Coop. in 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbellton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother William (Bill) Carroll, and great grandson Devilin Donaldson.
She is survived by her beloved children: Charles L. Donaldson (Debra Walker) and JoAnn (Bill) Register of Graceville; four grandchildren: Amanda C. Register of Tallahassee, Melissa (Tommy) Farmer of Graceville, Stuart (Mary) Donaldson of Dothan, AL, and Alex Donaldson of Chipley; six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; sister in law Doris Theris of Mobile, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
