MARIANNA—The number of students at Chipola College is up 4.59 percent this Fall. A total of 2,231 students are currently enrolled compared to 2,133 at this time last year.
The percentage of full-time students also is up this semester to 42.54%, compared to 37.65% last Fall.
The latest numbers show a positive enrollment trend for four straight terms. College President Dr. Jason Hurst said, “We are happy to see more students taking advantage of the opportunities we offer. We’re continuing to evaluate how we operate to better serve our students. We’ve expanded early registration, and more students are choosing to register online. We think everything about college should be easy except for the classes.”
Most Chipola students are enrolled in the Associate in Arts (AA) program, a two-year degree that guarantees acceptance to Florida’s 12 public universities or a B.S. program at Chipola. Chipola also offers Associate in Science (AS) degrees and certificates in Workforce Development programs that provide training for various career fields.
Students planning to enroll in the Spring semester, which begins in January 2016, are encouraged to apply by the Dec. 2 deadline. Nov. 17 is the Financial Aid application deadline for students planning to use financial aid to pay Spring 2017 tuition.
College applications are available in the Admissions Office located in the Student Services Building or on-line at www.chipola.edu.
