For many years, the “King’s Cup” Coffee Shop at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville has served students and the community delicious pastries, specialty coffee, and gourmet teas. However, when the new Deese Center Dining Facility opened last year, the former cafeteria area was used to expand the coffee shop and increase the range of food items. Through the hard work of several volunteer groups working on the BCF campus over the summer, the coffee shop was moved just a few feet from its previous location into the former cafeteria area, allowing for the nice expansion in size and menu options.
Beginning the first of September, the coffee shop will feature menu items such as the BCF Burger, Melts, Philly sandwiches, Pizza, hotdogs, chilidogs, nachos, French fries, and tater tots. The new coffee shop location has already increased the wide selection of specialty coffee and espresso drinks. “I am so excited about what the coffee shop is going to be able to offer the students this semester,” stated coffee shop manager Dawn Hyde. “As a mother of older students and a student myself, I understand that schedules can be hectic at times and I want to be able to offer students more than just a bottled drink, chips, and candy. I also understand that sometimes the coffee shop is the only option available for many students late at night and on the weekends, so I love that we will be able to provide more of the items that students were requesting.”
The coffee shop is open to the public and students from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The coffee shop is always closed during chapel services held in the R. G. Lee Chapel on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. during the regular semesters.
