The Chipola Artist Series Event, “Two On Tap,” is Sept. 22. Two On Tap brings audiences back in time to an era when couples like Fred and Ginger filled the silver screen with undeniable chemistry, harmony, and precision tap dancing. Individual tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and under.
Chipola’s Artist Series Event, Melinda Doolittle, is Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. Described as “a young Gladys Knight,” Doolittle is a soul–stirring songstress who became a household name on American Idol in 2007 when she came in third in the voting. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and under.
Chipola’s Jazz Band Concert and Swing Dance is Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Cultural Center. The UWF Jazz Band joins Chipola and other local bands for a fun evening of jazz favorites. Enjoy the concert and “Cut a Rug” in the Cultural Center (the old college gym). Tickets are $5 at the door the night of the event.
Chipola will host an AFC Opening Night Dinner Theatre, Oct. 27, at 5:30 p.m., for a performance of Chipola’s theatre production, Southern Fried Funeral. Seating is by reservation only. All proceeds go to the Chipola Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges. Tickets—$30—including dinner and a show, go on sale Oct. 5.
Chipola Theatre’s fall production, Southern Fried Funeral, runs Oct. 27-29, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. Southern Fried Funeral is a big-hearted comedy about family, Southern-style. Dewey Frye has died and the rest of his family is left to pick up the pieces — if they don’t kill each other first. Tickets—$8 for adults and $6 for ages 18 and under—go on sale Oct. 5.
Sunday Afternoon with the Arts is Nov. 6, from 1-4 p.m., in the Cultural Center. This family-oriented event will feature hands-on workshops for young and old, exhibits, artists and authors demonstrating their work, plus music, refreshments, door prizes and more. Chipola’s Art Gallery Christmas Exhibit will be on display Nov. 28 through Jan. 2 in the Center for the Arts Art Gallery.

The Chipola Artist Series Event, Cashore Marionettes, is Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. The internationally-acclaimed marionettes redefine the art of puppetry through a combination of virtuoso manipulation, music, theatrical illusion, and artistic insight. Chipola Artist Series Event, The Jive Aces, is March 28, at 7 p.m. The first band to reach the semi- finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2012, The Jive Aces are the UK’s top Jive & Swing band. They combine a mixture of classics made famous by Cab Calloway, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong and Dean Martin, along with original material. Tickets ($25 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and under) go on sale March 7.
Chipola’s Jazzmatazz will be held March 30-31 and April 1 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 2, at 2 p.m. Chipola’s award-winning Show Choir will present high-energy, song and dance favorites under the direction of Angie White and Dr. Josh Martin, with choreography by Brittney Holmes. Tickets—$10–go on sale Feb. 27.
Chipola’s Spring Ensemble Concert is April 11, at 7 p.m. The free concert is open to the public and will feature the College Chorus, President’s Ensemble, Community Chorus, and Rock and Jazz Band.
The Chipola Children’s Theatre Production of The Magic Schoolbus will be held Thusday, May 11 at 7 p.m. An eccentric school teacher takes her class on wondrous educational field trips with the help of a magical school bus. Tickets—$8 for adults and $6 for ages 18 and under—go on sale April 26.
Chipola Theatre’s Stars on Stage Fine Arts Camp (Grades K-6) is June 12-15. Students will spend the week in hands-on learning experiences while they prepare for their big performance at the culmination of the camp.
