Davis obit

Raymond Davis, 66 of Vernon, passed from this life on August 2, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Raymond was born on March 5, 1950 in Enterprise, Alabama, to Ray Mac Davis and Charles Virginia Burch. A lifelong resident of the panhandle, Raymond served in the United States Army and was a carpenter by trade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Charles Virginia Davis; sister: Carolyn Mosley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lynda Davis of Vernon, Florida; son: Jeff Davis of Vernon, Florida; three daughters: Teresa Burt and husband Ron G. of Canada, Marsha Parks and husband James of Vernon, Florida, Sharon Davis of Panama City, Florida; two brothers: Rex Davis of Panama City, Florida, Travis Davis and wife Sheila of Youngstown, Florida; one sister: Betty Jean Clark and husband Dave of Ohio; two step-sisters; Pamela Porch and husband Tommy of Houston, Texas, Angie Etress and husband Mike of Dothan, Alabama; nine grandchildren: Rebecca Green, Brian Piechowiak, Lynda Fay McNeil, Jesse Piechowiak, Brandon Harris, Mary Piechowiak, Austin Harris, Justin Dunn, Caitlyn Harris (Barry Broglin); eight great grandchildren: Octavius Green, Omari Green, Azmera Green, Reef Jones, Annabella Harris, Mayla Piechowiak, Devon Wright, Braylen Broglin.

A memorial service will be held in his honor 12p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his residence, 2856 Prospect Road, Vernon, Florida 32462. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.

  1. Raymond Davis was a neighbor that I visited several times; he was always cordial. Sorry, he died, but he seemed ready as he felt he had lived life to the fullest. My condolences go out to the surviving family, especially the widow and the children.
