Grant Rowell went 2-4 as the Chipley Tigers took home a 6-3 victory over Spring Hill in seven innings on Monday.
Brayden Gainey recorded the win for the Chipley Tigers. He allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings. Gainey struck out four, walked four and gave up four hits.
#12 took the loss for Spring Hill. He lasted just 4 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
Chipley Tiger closer Tyler Carnley put away the final two outs to record the save.
In the bottom of the second, Spring Hill grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Spring Hill got things going when #24 singled. #34 singled, plating #18.
The Chipley Tigers didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the fifth inning when they scored on a two-run double by Jaxon Ridley and two singles.
Two runs in the bottom of the seventh helped Spring Hill close its deficit to 6-3. An RBI single by #1 and a sacrifice fly by #3 sparked Spring Hill’s rally.
The Chipley Tigers’ Carnley induced a #22 strike out to close things out.
